Kearney, Missouri is a growing outer suburb approximately 15 miles northeast of Kansas City. The KHS Robotics team grew out of a love of all things science, and soon came to include students who were interested in engineering, woodworking, graphic design, computer coding, CAD, metal works, and even marketing. Recent robotics competitions have included heated matches with teams form surrounding states and even a team from Mexico. These competitions offer an excellent learning experience for all involved.
In general, participating in a robotics team presents high school students with a plethora of advantages extending beyond the traditional classroom. Firstly, it nurtures critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities as students collaborate on designing, constructing, and programming robots for various tasks and challenges.
